Welcome to My Practice
Is life tough at the minute? Are you feeling out of your depth with the problems in your life, either now or from the past?
You may be feeling overwhelmed with emotions such as sadness, anger, worry and be wanting to seek help for this or you may be feeling that have become disinterested in things or that your life has become mundane. Feelings like this can sometimes indicate depression and we can work together so that you might find some interest and joy in life again.
Proud member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My Approach
I can provide a safe space that will allow you to explore the areas of your life that you may want to look at. I will not solve your problems but instead will help you gain the “tools” you need to be able to support yourself by really listening to your story, being empathic and non-judgmental. Just being heard can be really empowering and give you the clarity you need to make positive changes in your life.
I have worked previously with clients suffering with bereavement, domestic violence, family issues, anxiety, and depression. While counseling isn’t about “fixing” a person, I was able to help my clients navigate their lives, make different choices, and learn to deal with their issues. Counseling is about helping people take control of their lives instead of letting their issues control them.
Therapeutic Methods
Within my work, I use Person-Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). However, I believe that when a person is struggling, the important thing is just having a person who is able to fully listen and understand what is going on for them. Someone who can help you make sense of life, offering insight and a different perspective to your situation.
